Our purpose is to remind you about how words can act as powerful catalysts to drive your attitude, actions, and behavior.
In the wake of the 2016 election, I found myself getting increasingly more anxious and depressed over what was happening in American politics. I was spending hours on Facebook clicking on links and reading articles about the latest political mishap, police brutality, or mass shooting. Little by little, hate and intolerance started to creep into my heart, and I began to view people that didn’t align with my opinion or values as “the enemy.” It was ruining my reality (and mental health), and I eventually realized that I was becoming the person that was spreading the same intolerance that I accused others of doing. That needed to change.
Like a lot of people, I took a break from social media and turned off most of my news alerts and asked myself – what can I do to contribute to the world more positively? How can I redirect my energy? Ten months and a dozen ideas later, The Generous & Kind Company was born.
I started this company to as a counter to the negative rhetoric in our culture. It may sound silly, but want a Korean person to put on an Aigoo! T-shirt and be reminded that yes, someone cares enough to represent my culture. I want a kid to look themselves in the mirror and actually see a “Future CEO.” I want my products to serve as a subtle reminders that words can act as powerful catalysts to drive who we are and how we see ourselves.
I am so very glad that you decided to stop by today. I’d love for you to shoot me an email and so I can get to know you and listen to any feedback or ideas you might have. Thanks for taking your time.
